- - -- - -, zu Glück und Heil!, wolle beschließen der Rat:dass die Vorsitzenden, die erlost sein werden zum Vorsitzfür die kommende Volksversammlung, hierüber verhandelnlassen und die Beschlussvorlage des Rates in dieVolksversammlung einbringen, wonach der Rat es für gut befindet, dass mandas Gute billige, das nach dem Bericht der Priesterin geschehen ist bei denOpfern, die sie opferte für das Heil und die Rettung desRates und des Volkes und der Kinder und Frauenund des Königs Demetrios und der KöniginPhthia und ihrer Nachkommen; – Da die Priesterinder Polias Sorge getragen hat in guter und ehrgeizigerWeise für die Ausschmückung des Altartisches gemäßdem traditionellen Brauch, und für das andere, was dieGesetze und die Beschlüsse des Volkes vorschreiben; sie stetszu jeglichem Zeitpunkt ehrgeizig war fürdie Göttin; und unter dem Archon Alkibiades sieaus eigenen Mitteln ein Theräisches (Gewand) und - - -und härene geweiht hat; sie auch bei den Praxi-ergidai für das traditionelle Opfer aus eigenen Mittelneinhundert Drachmen gezahlt hat; – Damit nun auch das Volkin öffentlicher Weise diejenigen ehrt, die am höchstendie Frömmigkeit gegenüber den Göttern erachten: dass man belobigedie Priesterin der Athena Polias - - -te,die Tochter des Polyeuktos aus dem Demos Bate, undbekränze mit einem Olivenkranz wegen ihrer Frömmigkeitgegenüber der Göttin; dass man belobige auch ihren MannArchestratos S.d. Euthykrates aus dem Demos Amphitropeund ihn bekränze mit einem Olivenkranzwegen seiner Frömmigkeit gegenüber der Göttin und seinemEhrgeiz für den Rat und das Volk; dassdiesen Beschluss der Sekretär, der während der Prytanieamtiert, aufzeichne auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle aufder Akropolis; - - -- - -

- - -- - - for good fortune, the Council shall decide:that the presiding committee allotted to presideat the forthcoming Assembly shall put the matter on theagenda and submit the opinion of the Councilto the People, that it seems good to the Council to acceptthe good things [that the priestess says?] occurred in thesacrifices that she made for the health and preservation of the Counciland the People and children and womenand [king Demetrios] and queen[Phthia] and their descendants; and since the priestess[of Athena] took care well and with love of honourof the adornment of the table according totradition and the other things which the lawsand decrees of the People prescribed, and continuesat every opportunity to be honour-loving towards thegoddess, and in the archonship of Alkibiades she dedicatedfrom her own resources a Theran and - - -and a garment of plaited hair; and contributed to the Praxiergidaia hundred drachmas for the ancestral sacrifice fromher own resources; so, therefore, that the Peoplemay be seen to be honouring those who rate most highlypiety to the gods, to praisethe priestess of Athena Polias - -tedaughter of Polyeuktos of Bate andcrown her with a foliage crown for her pietytowards the goddess; and to praise also her husbandArchestratos son of Euthykrates of Amphitropeand crown him with a foliage crownfor his piety towards the goddess and love of honourtowards the Council and People; and theprytany secretary shall inscribe thisdecree on a stone stele and stand it[on the acropolis] - - -- - -
